Laughs

“What sunshine is to flowers, smiles are to humanity. These are but trifles, to be sure; but scattered along life’s pathway, the good they do is inconceivable”

 Joseph Addison

This series was mainly a focus on what makes us who we are as humans. Our humanity is often defined by our appearance or what we know how to do like cooking, taking care of a family, dancing, etc. I believe our humanity is found in our values and beliefs. Joy is a strong emotion that drives what and who we put value in, so much that it defines us as humans. I placed this animals in comical places that would inspire laugh and smiles because I believe that we are truly human when we stop, rest and laugh. In joy is when we truly find ourselves and we are able to enjoy our humanity.

Emotions.

This concentration was inspired by the top emotions we deal with everyday. I used color pencil and explored colors and skin tones to accurately portray each emotion.

This was made for a good friend of mine that works at the church I attend. He is a huge movie geek, he wanted something that had a banksy feel to it. I mixed two of his favorite movies The Hunger Games and V for Vendetta and came up with this. It is acrylic paint on a 16×20 in canvas. securtiy guard
